About Fostering

Open your home to foster an animal in need. If you might not be ready to adopt an animal as it is a long-term commitment, you could consider fostering one.

Many people don’t realize that fostering an animal can actually save lives. You will help save the life of the pet you are temporarily taking into your home with you until we are able to find a forever home for him/her.

By stepping up and helping this animal, you will be making an amazing contribution to our rescue as we cannot do our work without the help of all the foster home volunteers.

Our organization will provide you with the food and medication (if needed) of that animal. If the animal needs medication, we would explain how it needs to be administered. Vet appointments could be arranged that either we take the animal to the vet office or if you wish to help us with that, you could take the animal to our vet. All medical bills, of course, would be covered by us. We would ask you to let us know immediately if you notice something with the animal in your care that might require medical attention.

It is important to make sure that if you do have your own animals while fostering, that they are up-to-date with their vaccines.

Would you like to become a foster family? Please just fill out this form and we will get back to you!

Bark Foundation Kisvárda

Unfortunately, just like in other cities in Hungary, Kisvárda also has a lot of stray, homeless dogs and cats. Our main goal is to create a well managed animal shelter, where the physical and mental rehabilitation of stray and abandoned animals can take place, until suitable new owners are found for them.
