Liza, the lively pup with fur as soft as dawn's first light, found her forever home today, nestled in the arms of her loving family.❤️ With wagging tail and eyes full of gratitude, Liza eagerly joins her new family, ready to shower them with boundless affection and joy.
With Nyafi by our side, our home feels complete, as we open our hearts to this furry friend, sweet😍😍😍😍.
In the arms of love, Suti's journey starts a new bond eternal, pure and true.❤️❤️
With Szotyi's paws padding into their lives, our home is now filled with endless love and canine charm❤️.
Maybe you remember our Christmas "compartment" babies, the 9 kids who were put out in front of our shelter like garbage.😞 The Katikas temporarily took in two of their children in their home in Venice and they have already adopted them at record speed...since then they have adopted two more babies. Look what treasures this chest has hidden! The two chocolate browns Milka and Boci are already living the life of happy owner puppies. Be very happy beauties!❤️❤️❤️
Today, after a two-week trial period, Boriszka went to work. Not anywhere, you can say, she put her little pop in the tutu.😍 He was adopted forever by a lovely young couple.❤️ Be very happy dwarf bat! ❤️❤️❤️
Luck smiled on Lizika as well and she finally moved in with a loving family, where a dog house and a cat house were waiting for her. Be very happy Lizike!❤️
If you would like to help one of our animals, but don't have the opportunity to adopt yet, become a virtual adopter!
Choose a dog on our website, or on our Facebook or Instagram page and send us an email about your virtual adoption intention and which of our animals you want to help.
Please send us your details (phone number, email address, which one is better in terms of reaching you, etc.) and how long you want to support your chosen animal.
After that, we will display your name as a virtual adopter on Facebook, Instagram and our website (with your permission).
Your support would cover the care, medical treatment and sterilization of the dog for as long as you are able to do so. Feel free to come visit and walk the chosen dog if you have the time! They love meeting their virtual adopters.
If we find your virtually adopted dog a home, we will notify you immediately. Then, if you are still able to help a dog in our care, you can become the virtual adopter of another dog that is still looking for an owner.
We are happy to discuss the details with you over the phone or in person. We look forward to hearing from you.
Unfortunately, just like in other cities in Hungary, Kisvárda also has a lot of stray, homeless dogs and cats. Our main goal is to create a well managed animal shelter, where the physical and mental rehabilitation of stray and abandoned animals can take place, until suitable new owners are found for them.
In addition to work and family, we dedicate our free time to caring for and rescuing animals. We are currently keeping the animals in a temporary facility offered by the Municipality of Kisvárda, and are taking care of close to 400 dogs.
We are constantly waiting for animal lovers like us to apply for volunteer work. Our dogs always need a little petting and walking. You can help feed the animals and improve their conditions.
We also welcome the help of experienced professionals (mason, carpenter, welder, etc.) who would like to support our animals in need.
Learn MoreOpen your home to foster an animal in need. If you might not be ready to adopt an animal as it is a long-term commitment, you could consider fostering one.
Many people don't realize that fostering an animal can actually save lives. You will help save the life of the pet you are temporarily taking into your home with you until we are able to find a forever home for him/her.
By stepping up and helping this animal, you will be making an amazing contribution to our rescue as we cannot do our work without the help of all the foster home volunteers.
Our organization will provide you with the food and medication (if needed) of that animal. If the animal needs medication, we would explain how it needs to be administered. Vet appointments could be arranged that either we take the animal to the vet office or if you wish to help us with that, you could take the animal to our vet. All medical bills, of course, would be covered by us. We would ask you to let us know immediately if you notice something with the animal in your care that might require medical attention.
It is important to make sure that if you do have your own animals while fostering, that they are up-to-date with their vaccines.
Would you like to become a foster family? Please just fill out this form and we will get back to you!

You might wish to make some more space at home during spring cleaning and get rid of items you or
your pets might not use. Please think of us if you have items that are still in good condition or if
you wish to purchase something new for us that our animals might need.
If you would prefer offering help in other ways, please visit our Donate
page
We take in animals from local and out of province animal rescues and shelters where they have difficulty finding a home. We pull animals from euthanasia lists where the animals have no other choice than us for getting a chance to live. We take in stray animals from the streets as there are so many that have been abandoned and are without a home.
The daily care of our animals as well as their medical expenses and our transportation costs can go pretty high in saving all of the animals in our care. So every dollar you donate will go a long way to help the animals in our care.
You may drop off items you would like to donate (blankets, beds for animals, food, toys, dog house, etc.) We can also arrange a pick up if you don't have the time or do not have a car to get those items to our rescue. Please visit our 'Items you may Donate' page for more information!
Sometimes you might not be in a position to adopt one of our animals, but you would still like to help with as much as you can. There is the opportunity to become a Virtual Adopter to support an animal in our care for a month or even more. If this sounds interesting to you, please contact us!
